So I/we (Pret came with me for most of it, but felt the inclination to leave when I had to have a Pap-Smear and exam...) went to the doctor on Tuesday. We met the OB/GYN, Kimberly Moreland. She came highly recommended by a few former parents of mine. She was very nice, but efficient--our kind of lady!
She attempted to find the heartbeat with the sonogram, but couldn't find it, so they had to pull out the ultrasound machine. We were totally able to see it moving around (it's an active child already!) and Pret was regularly able to see the heartbeat, but I only caught it once. It was a pretty neat experience and definitely made it more real for us both.
We also have an official date--April 25th! If it comes at all early, then I will get a "free" week due to spring break. That will be nice. If not, it will still be a great break through the end of the year.
Also, it's become more official as I have now thrown up a few times. No big deal on either of them--both while brushing my teeth. Lesson: no more tongue brushing! :-( Please let me know if I have bad breath!

I am commenting BECAUSE we are so thrilled to add this new baby to our family! We already love him/her! We kind of picture a curly redhead with BIG BROWN eyes. But if this baby is purple with pink polkadots, it's already loved!!!

"no big deal" a much stronger woman than myself- Throwing up a few times would definitely be a big deal for me:) But then, I am sure you already knew that. So excited for you- please find out the gender!
Haha that's so cute! :D I remember seeing Nate's heartbeat at 9.5 weeks. I bled and it made me nervous so he tried to find the heartbeat, but couldn't so they did an ultrasound and it was so clear! I take after my mom and my uterus sits back further than most people, so I don't get to hear the heart beat until 14 weeks. So this time it didn't seem real that I was pregnant until then. I've only had one ultrasound with this one. My doctor with Nate would have only done one if I wouldn't have had problems (it was such a minor problem too...well I did have another one from a gall bladder attack). So it will be fun to finally meet her (soon! my mom just needs to get back from vacation!!).
Throwing up is definitely a good thing :D. It doesn't seem like it would be, but it is! I only threw up if I didn't eat. So if you're brushing your teeth in the morning, try eating something first. Or maybe you have, but still! :D
Sorry I just LOVE pregnancy! That's why I'm a doula (actually I'm so excited Beth Hoffman just asked me to be hers!!!! :D :D :D). I have a whole blog just about pregnancy/birth related stuff. It's mostly about natural and home birth, but I try to just post good information as well. :D
I am in!
XOXOXOXO
You crack me up! The first time I threw up was brushing my teeth, too! Something about that motion or strong mint flavor sets you off. I'm so thrilled for you two! Isn't it so unreal to see the child on the screen? Wow! Gives me shivers. Congrats again! :)
I can never brush my teeth in the morning when I am pregnant. I usually could only take care of that in the middle of the day so I feel for you and am glad that I am not the only one.
