6 Months and Counting...

So Lilly turned 6 months old yesterday!  I can't believe it was that long ago!  I was talking with my friend, Jamie, who is due in about 3 weeks, about what to expect, how things were at the hospital, etc., and realized that I now feel like I could go through it all again.  Is that about normal--did it take about 6 months or more for most of you to get to that point?  Now, I'm not saying that I'm ready or want to, but just that I could enjoy it again.  Especially if it would produce another child as adorable as Lilly.

Almost every day Pret and I say to each other, "How did we get something so cute?"  Lilly really is almost perfect (not that I'm biased or anything).  She is an awesome sleeper, eater, and entertainer.  She is patient when we ignore her (and make her play with things like a hanger or a comb), sleeps on long car rides, and makes us laugh all the time.

She goes in for her check-up on her UTI and 6-month shots tomorrow.  I am not excited to see her cry again, but know that it will be for her own good.  I am excited to see how much she weighs and how much she's grown.  I know she sure loves her solids (lots of fruits and veggies) and know that she is nursing more now than she ever has before.  If she is still a little smaller than average, it is probably because I am not drinking enough to keep her going (a constant downfall of mine).  But I have made it 6 months with nursing (which was my goal), with no thoughts or signs of slowing down any time soon.

Anyway, I think I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to try to do monthly pictures of Lilly.  I have been a few days late on a few of the months, but for the most part I have gotten them done.  Some are definitely better than others, but it is still really fun.  I really don't notice the difference when I advance one month at a time, but when I look at pictures from two months apart (like 1 and then 3, or 2 and then 4) I can really see the growth.

So here are the first 6 months in pictures.  In the 6-month, I figured I would change the pose up a little and show-off that she is able to sit up on her own, for the most part.  I know it kind of skews the comparison aspect, but she was so cute with it, that I wanted to keep it that way.  ENJOY!

1 Month
The bear was half of her body length!

1 Month-May 2011

2 Months--June 2011

2 Months
You can see her advancing to noticing things around her!

3 Months--July 2011

3 Months
Starting to kick her legs and being able to grab at things.

4 Months--August 2011
I set the bear a little too high on this one, but hopefully you still get a good comparison.

4 Months
Trying to show how she could kind of sit up.  And when she was really starting to smile and giggle!

5 Months--September 2011
I know her foot kind of throws off the perspective, but I wanted to include this picture to show when she had really started to discover her toes.  I had been waiting and waiting for this.  It helped when I painted her toenails.

5 Months

6 Months--October 2011
Our HAPPY girl!

6 Months
She wouldn't leave the bear next to her--she had to have it!
And she was sitting up mostly on her own, even though it looks like she was propped up on the couch.

6 Months
I finally had to get the camera all ready and have Pret sneak the bear in next to her.  It drew her attention to the bear instead of at the camera.  :-(

Blog List Update

Dear Readers,

I know this is not the update you are wanting, but I had to do this before I could update my posts.  I finally got around to updating the lists of blogs that are linked to this site.

If you have a blog that I have missed, please comment so that I can add it.  I want to be better about keeping up with everything and everyone, but know that I got very far behind.

Thanks,
The Management (Megan)
